Breastfeeding on HCG Protocol

I just wanted to share a bit. I began looking into utilizing HCG to help me get to a healthier weight as it has been quite difficult with PCOS, making it seem impossible to lose weight. I researched and researched the program and could not find anything on doing this while nursing an infant. After careful, and prayerful, consideration I decided to give it a go. I went to my doctor and had labs done so we could compare. I ordered my supplies (my mom was heading into round two so she had experience) for me and hubby, and waited. My doctor was concerned as she had concerns about the protocol itself, having just been warned away from it at a recent conference, but she is pretty cool and knew I intended to try it and wanted to do it safely.
Folks, they say you cannot do this while nursing because the prolactin produced while nursing inhibits the weight loss process... oh really... someone forgot to tell my body! It is Oct 23 today, and I began weighing after the two load days... I am down over 19 pounds... just under 20! That is in 18 days, and if I had a little better a couple days and more closely followed protocol it would be more. My baby is doing just fine, happy as a lark, and still a chunky girl. I just wanted to let people know that halfway through and nursing we are doing well. Oh, and my husband has lost 23 or more pounds and looks fantastic! Amazing!
It's not always easy, but I am so grateful!
Oh, the first several days were really hard. I eat sometimes more than the 500 calories as I am nursing but today I am sure I am waaaaayyyy under. If I am seriously hungry I eat. I am nursing after all and I am no fool. Hubby, on the other hand, rarely is hungry.
Quite incredible. Well, I am off to bed as proper sleep aids in weight loss and did I mention I have a baby? hehe, I need the sleep... I weigh 25 pounds less than I did starting this pregnancy and she is 6 months old now. I now weigh less than I did starting my first pregnancy. YAY!
Take care! Jen

THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for your post. I heard about this through my doctor. When I asked him and the phamacists how it would affect my breastfeeding, I got blank looks. The only response I could get was "It might be better to wait until you are done nursing him. Assuming that you don't plan on nursing him until he is 6." I am so glad to see that it didnt have any negative affects on you. THANK YOU so much for your post!
