This board is dedicated to Leonardo DiCaprio in appreciation and celebration of his unique talent as an actor. Leonardo will be filming two new movies this year. First in line is "The Aviator", a Howard Hughes biopic to be directed by Martin Scorsese. After Aviator, Leonardo will take on the role of a lifetime, portraying Alexander the Great in an adaptation of Valerio Massimo Manfredi's engrossing and beautifully written novels about the greatest warrior of all time. Alexander will reunite Leonardo with his Romeo & Juliet director Baz Luhrmann. With his silky, dark blonde locks and intense blue eyes, Leonardo bears a striking physical resemblance to the handsome Macedonian king, particularly as described in Manfredi's poetic, mesmerizing prose. We're looking forward to seeing both these wonderful films in 2004. Please join in our discussions as we follow his career and share news, photos, and opinions about this most fascinating and alluring of young stars.

Thanks for reposting your "Inception" discussion comment on this board :)
As to ending credits...I've stayed through the closing credits now '3x' and have never 'heard' a sound of a driedel falling.
Perhaps, other posters who stayed through closing credits can post what they heard :)
I've seen it 4 times - the dreidel is never heard dropping in the 3 times I've stayed through to the end.
Wanted to post these two comments from others ... comments I personally thought were 'spot on' regarding Cobb/the totem and the audience ....
First agree with this comment about Cobb and the spinning top .......
While in Limbo with Ariadne and Mal, he finally accepts that he is not responsible for Mal's death. When he finally gets home, he doesn't need the top anymore because he finally has his children, which is what he's been after. Plus, the subtle hints with the wedding ring and the fact that he never sees his children's faces in dreams, and we start to see that he never needed the top.
And this take on how the spinning top for us is what the combination #'s are for Fischer ....
This is also why this movie is so good. The top acts on us as the numbers on Fisher. We focus on it and give a meaning which was not there initially, since it was never stated that the top became Cobb's totem. But we are tempted to believe it.
That's remind me the scene in the movie when they repeat on the phone the numbers given by Fisher (when kidnapped) and then, push Fisher and Eames in the van telling to Fisher that he has to do better next time (If I did not misunderstand), implying that the numbers are wrong. However, despite this, these are the numbers that Fisher accepted to be the right ones in the hospital. As for the audience which is told that the top is not Cobb's totem, but our first reflex is to deny it and to consider that it is his totem.
Anybody else having problems getting on the main forum ?
Yes, Joke - when it's down for one, it's down for everyone.
It's been down since mid-day Saturday
I haven't been able to access the board since yesterday either.
No trouble geting here though.
If you look at the URL, the boards are on two different servers run through the WX website.
The original is #1, and this one is #3. Any board in the #1 server is inaccessible at the moment.
I see that now, thanks Reina. Hope our main board comes back soon!
I love how many theories there are for Inception. Here is an overview posted on Imdb by irenya.
1. The whole movie is a dream, dreamed by just some guy at his home
2. The whole movie is a dream, Cobb is lost in Limbo, he can't possibly get out for some reason, his friends give him a "false happy ending" so that at least he can be at peace.
3. The whole movie is a dream, except for the very first scene with Cobb looking at his kids on the beach. He is really at some beach, falls asleep there, and ends up drowning. The whole movie is his "dream/hallucination" while he's drowning.
4. The whole movie, except the end is a dream. Cobb is just a regular guy on a long flight who is missing his kids.
5. The whole movie, except for the end is a dream: Cobb lives in the real world, but now he is being Incepted by his team, and they created this complex dreamworld as a means to make him get rid of his guilt. They were actually on the plane the whole time.
6. The whole movie, except for the end, is a dream: Cobb is lost in a dream, he never left after Mal "killed" herself. His team create all the dream levels to make him end up killing himself and going back to reality.
7. The whole movie is real ("face value" viewing, just a heist on Fischer and all that)
8. The whole movie is real, but the end is a dream. Cobb is still in Limbo and never wakes up on the plane.
9. The whole movie is real, but apart from the Fischer's job, there's the "Cobb job", which is a long con on Cobb to make him deal with his guilt.
10. The first part of the movie is real, but Cobb never wakes up after he tries Yusuf's drug at his basement (we never see the top fail after that scene, Cobb fails to spin it when he "wakes up")
There are different sub versions of some of them (the "all is a dream" theories include: all is psychotherapy, Cobb is really an old man, and a few more).

Thanks for list of "Inception" theories :)
Article with costume guy about clothing used in "Inception"...you'll notice this time they ask the guy about Cobb's wedding ring ( last time they asked him about kids clothes ).....and the guy doesn't say a lot but he makes his point :)

The book "Inception The Shooting Script
I wanted to mention that according to the book.....
In the original script in the scene between Miles/Cobb ....Cobb asks Miles about asking Mal's mother to bring the kids to see him at a safe spot
But Miles tells him that she would never do anything he asks as she blames him as much as she blames Cobb for Mal's death
Infact she divorced Miles after Mal's death
Feels that if Miles hadn't been involved with Cobb ....their daughter would never have met him
Also Cobb talks about what enticed him to learn what Miles had to teach that Miles told him a typical architect in the real world ends up designing some ordinary things.....but in the dream world he can really be creative
This is a testament to the brilliance of Nolan, because from the brief phone call between Cobb & his kids toward the beginning, it was easy to glean the MiL's feelings toward him.
I would've liked the scene about what enticed Cobb, though.

Thank you for that information from the original script. That really fills in a hole. Have ordered the script but it was late being released here and am looking forward to receiving it. Think scripts do sometimes clarify the orginal intent of a story. Why the grandmother would not talk to Cobb when the kids rang. Miles must have been able to bring them to that reunion in the end.
